Practical information
One of the easiest and quickest ways to hike up Table Mountain is through Platteflip Gorge. The route takes us up a rock staircase, gaining elevation quickly while enjoying amazing city views at the same time.
Course of events
The hike starts about a kilometre past the lower cable station. From there, the elevation gain is immediate, making our way up to the left side of the gorge. The path continues up a fun, narrow stretch until we meet an inter-crossing. Depending on the energy of the group, we can then either continue up to the highest point of Table Mountain, or make our way back down again.
Special terms
Hiking on sunny days is very dehydrating. Be sure to bring bottled water with you.
