As you enjoy the amazing feeling of freedom and the spectacular views, once you get comfortable paragliding, you can even pilot the paragliding wing yourself with the assistance of your pilot. But be warned, it's so easy that doing so is highly addictive and you will want more! Hard-core adrenaline seekers can also ask their pilot to execute some exhilarating acrobatics while paragliding over Cape Town! After a soft landing on the Sea Point Promenade, your pilot and crew will drive you back to your vehicle free of charge to complete your Cape Town paragliding experience.

Practical information

15 minute paragliding flight over Cape Town, taking off from either Lions Head or Signal Hill.


Course of events

- On the day of your flight contact Hi 5 Paragliding and ask about the take-off point for that day.

- Meet Hi 5's friendly crew and pilots at the meeting point (either on Signal Hill or on Lion's Head). You can park your car at the meeting point. Make sure to arrive 30mins before the flight.

- The crew and pilots will welcome you, sign you up and give you a flying safety briefing. Once you are comfortable, you will get safety clipped in with one of the experienced pilots.

- After a few easy steps assisted by the crew you and your insturctor will be flying!

- Flight time can last anwhere between 7 to 25 minutes depending on the weather conditions.

- After an unforgettable flight you'll land on fields at the Sea Point Promenade by Glen Country Club.

- Your pilot and crew will then drive you to your vehicle free of charge.

Activity requirements

- All participants must be in good health and be between 25kg (55lb) and 115kg (255lb).

- Minors must have authorisation from their parents.

- No prior paragliding experience required. No specific physical condition required.

- Make sure to bring sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, and a warm jacket along for the flight. And very important, wear closed shoes (hiking shoes or sneakers). Also, bring a bottle of water.

Special terms

- Be on time! Make sure to arrive 30 mins prior to your flight to give time for your flight safety briefing.

- Please note, paragliding is a highly weather-dependent activity. If Hi 5 Paragliding needs to reschedule your flight it will be due to safety and/or weather restrictions.

- For an extra R300 you can get Photos and Videos of your amazing experience. You receive them directly after the flight directly transferred to your mobile device (make sure you have enough storage space). Payment for pictures is on spot and in cash.

What an amazing experience. Flying above Cape Town gives you a wonderful view and Hi 5 really gave us the best experience we could get. It was our first flight and we felt totally safe and welcomed. We had a lot of fun before, during and after the flight. All around we can highly recommend Hi 5 for paragliding :)
