Northern Lights Snowmobiling Excursion from Kiruna

Hunt the Northern Lights aboard your own snowmobile on this leisurely excursion into Lappish wildlife by night from Kiruna. Welcoming participants from ages 18 and up!

Kiruna is a city located in the far north of Sweden, within the magical Lapland region. The city is close to the Arctic Circle to the north and borders both Finland and Norway. The area experiences Arctic conditions in the winter, with snowy landscapes and clear night skies. It is an optimal location for witnessing the magnificent Northern Lights!

This tour offers to pick you up from one of the listed locations around Kiruna and drive you to the base camp located approximately 30 minutes away from the centre. From there, the experienced guide will drill you on the basics of snowmobiling, and provide you with all the necessary equipment for the adventure, including winter clothing, shoes, gloves, and helmets. You can either drive in pairs, with one driver and one passenger and the opportunity to switch midway, or as a single driver.

Once you are ready, the guide will lead the way into the forest. You will skid through the snow in search of the best spots to find the Northern Lights. Breaks will be taken on the way to admire the Aurora Borealis as well as the starry night sky. Make the most of gliding through this silent corner of the Earth, and try to spot some of the Arctic's residents, including moose, reindeer, and much more.

Halfway through the excursion, you will pause at a scenic location for a break. The guide will help you to capture photos of this mesmerising view. A hot drink of coffee, tea or lingonberry juice and some sweet snacks from the local bakery will be served as you take in your peaceful surroundings. After driving back to the starting point, you will be transferred back to your pick-up point in Kiruna. This exciting snowmobiling adventure is a thrilling way to discover the unique Swedish landscapes while admiring the phenomenal Northern Lights in Kiruna!
