Kiruna is a town located in northern Sweden, close to the borders of Norway and Finland and right within the Arctic Circle. Kiruna is a popular destination for outdoor activities in the winter, due to its stunning scenery, vast untouched wilderness and snowy landscapes. Snowmobiles are a popular form of transportation in northern Sweden, as they allow you to discover more remote areas of nature.

The tour begins at the starting point in Kiruna, where you will meet your experienced and friendly guide. You will receive a safety briefing and driving lesson, all experience levels are welcome! Snowmobiles will be shared in pairs, with one driver and one passenger and the chance to switch midway. Children will sit in a comfortable sled pulled by the guide's snowmobile. Once you have received your snowmobiling and Arctic gear, the adventure begins!

You will set off driving through the beautiful nature along the Torne River. You will go off the main track and follow your own track to get closer to nature, passing by forests, lakes and mountains. Midway through the excursion, you will stop at a wooden cabin, sitting on reindeer skins around an open fire while the guide serves local Lappish delicacies. This is a good opportunity to learn more about this remote Arctic area and the history of the region. After switching drivers, you will snowmobile back to the starting point.

Practical information

Snowmobiles are shared between two, with one driver and one passenger and the opportunity to switch during the ride. You also have the option of booking as a solo driver.

Course of events

- Please arrive at the meeting point in Kiruna at least 30 minutes before the start time

- Safety briefing and driving lesson

- Receive equipment and Arctic gear

- The snowmobiling adventure begins!

- Drive your snowmobile for approximately 15-30km

- Break for lunch around a fire

- Return to the starting point

Activity requirements

Snowmobile drivers must hold a full, valid driver's license. Please bring the original copy with you on the day of the activity.

Special terms

Transfer from your hotel is available at an additional fee. Please contact your instructor directly to arrange.

For safety reasons, children under 12 years of age will sit in a sled pulled by the guide's snowmobile.

The journey was perfect. and our route crossed forests and a lake. The lake was frozen , so we could drive very fast on the ice. The top speed could reach 70 KM per hour.

Nous avons appris beaucoup de choses sur la culture Sami, en plus des sensations en motoneige et des paysages féériques! La pause dans la "cabane" était tout aussi appréciable, nous avons pu manger et boire autour d'un feu.
