Chiclana de la Frontera: What to do when you get there?
Chiclana de la Frontera is part of the marvellous Costa de la Luz. The area is part of the Province of Cadiz as well as a popular destination amongst adrenaline hunters looking to enjoy the coastline and great weather of the municipality.
The spot is part of Bay of Cadiz, a Natural Park that boasts the 10.544 hectares in Andalusia. This makes it a natural paradise for scuba divers and snorkelers. Around the coastline you will see kiteboarders, sailers and windusrfers assembling their equipment to take some wind & waves.
Although it is a coastal city, you can see mountain bikers and hikers around the tracks that go through the depths of the three important pine woods: Pinar de la Esparota, Pinar de Hierro and Pinar Del Parque Perubiano La Barrosa.
Small trips are made every day by ferry and sometimes in kayak (for the most adventurous) to the Sancti-Petri Islet, where the famous Castle of Sancti-Petri is located. This island has always had a mythical content and origin of civilization of the Bay of Cadiz.
After some adventure you can always relax in the beach of Playa de la Barrosa or Playa de Sancti Petri, the nirvana for surfers and stand up paddling excursions.
