What to do in Cannes
Cannes: What to do when you get there?
Cannes is a city located on the French Riviera. It is a commune of France situated in the Alpes-Maritimes department, in a preserved area between the mountains and the Mediterranean Sea.
The city is well known for its association with the rich and famous, its luxurious hotels and restaurants, and for hosting the annual Cannes Film Festival. But what you might not know, is that it is also a hot-spot for extreme sports, especially water sports!
Thanks to the wind that blows all year round (whether it is the Mistral or typical southern/eastern winds) and the pleasant climate you will enjoy perfect conditions for open air activities and extreme water sports, such as kitesurfing, jet-skiing, flyboarding, wakeboarding and many other outdoor activities.
From Cannes, you’re guaranteed exceptional panoramas, notably in the west on Iles de Lérins and in the east on the summits of Mercantour. You can go hiking or mountain biking in the region which has a lot of hilly landscapes to explore.
