Embark on a day-long adventure in the Arctic, mushing your own team of Alaskan huskies, followed by a guided visit to the magical Ice Domes Snow Park in Tromsø, and get up close with the festive reindeer!

Combine an all-in-one package, for a fulsome day in the winter wonderland of Northern Norway, situated north of the Arctic Circle. Set among the high mountains, and a snow-covered valley, the Ice Domes are home to some incredible ice sculptures and impressive snow carvings.

Your adventure begins with a pick-up from the city center in Tromsø, where you will embark on a 90-minute scenic ride, admiring the mesmerising landscapes and white-washed mountains of the Arctic. Upon arrival, you will receive warm winter overalls, and follow a safety briefing and a mushing demonstration with special techniques. Once you're set, you will head out to meet the huskies who will take you on an unforgettable journey into the Arctic wilderness. Each sled will be shared between two participants, with the opportunity to swap drivers during the experience.

The dogs are well-trained and love to run, but as teamwork is essential, there will be parts of the trip where you will have to help and push the sled together with your pack. Depending on the snow conditions, the dog sledding ride is approximately 20-30 minutes. After the tour, you'll relax by the roaring fire in a traditional reindeer herder's tent, and enjoy a delicious and locally produced warm meal.

Once you've recharged, you will head to the Ice Domes Snow Park, and admire the magical icy sculptures. Wander around a mesmerising display of snow and ice sculptures, and a snow maze, and explore the two domes. Marvel at the amazing art coming to life with light in its natural surroundings of pristine nature and peaceful Arctic landscapes. You will then have some free time to meet the reindeers, right next to the Snow Park before heading back to Tromsø.

Book your Ice Domes Visit, and combine your day with a self-drive dog sledding ride, and meet the festive reindeers, important to the Arctic region and Tromsø!

The trail can be narrow and have sharp bends, which requires a good balance to steer the sled. The guides are entitled to deny drivers and passengers to join this tour for health and safety reasons.

* Additionally, be prepared for outdoor weather conditions which can be harsh and unpredictable during the Arctic winter. Temperatures often drop below freezing, with averages ranging from -10°C to -20°C.

For an 'easier' level of dog sledding, we highly advise the 'Beginner

The trip has beer really well organized. Stunning views during the way to Camp Tamok. The dog sledding was exciting. The lunch under the Sami tent was a hug and a cuddle. The explanation for the ice doms was clear and interesting. And also the meeting with the reindeers.

The husky sledding was a lot of fun and the scenery was amazing, but it was quite hard work! The fish soup was really good and much needed! Unfortunately we didn’t get much time for the Ice Domes.
