Venture into the Yukon whilst driving your own team of Alaskan huskies on this dog sledding excursion from Carcross or Whitehorse!
Experience the exhilaration of a self-driving dogsled tour through the pristine wilderness of the Yukon, starting from the historic village of Carcross, near Whitehorse. Sled dogs have long been an integral part of Yukon's heritage, famously aiding prospectors during the Klondike Gold Rush. For enthusiasts of adventurous tales like 'Call of the Wild' and 'White Fang' by Jack London, this tour offers a chance to step into the shoes of a musher and perhaps even meet a husky like Buck.
Your journey begins with a scenic drive to the Southern Lakes region, where rugged mountains and glistening lakes set the stage for your adventure. These Yukon landscapes, once traversed by gold seekers heading north to Dawson City, now provide the perfect backdrop for modern-day dog sledding on abandoned railway tracks.
Elevation Sled Dogs equips you with premium cold weather gear to ensure your comfort throughout the dog sledding excursion from Carcross. After meeting your team of huskies, including veterans of races like the Iditarod and Yukon Quest, you'll receive a comprehensive safety briefing before taking the sled yourself. Dog sled through Yukon's untamed terrain, guided by experienced mushers, and pause at scenic Bennett Lake for a mid-tour break and photo opportunities.
As you journey back to base camp, warm drinks await to replenish your energy after an exhilarating experience of driving your own husky team in Yukon. Conclude your half-day adventure with a visit to the Wild Adventure Yukon Wildlife Gallery, immersing yourself further in the natural wonders of the Yukon.
All tours are designed for you to learn the art of mushing as you navigate the trails with expert guidance.
