Blue Bay - Mauritius: The Must-Do Activities

Blue Bay - Mauritius: What to do when you get there?

Discover the activities to do in Blue Bay on Mauritius! In the south-east of Mauritius, Blue Bay is a very popular place for its beautiful beach and its large lagoon ideal for snorkeling!

Located just a stone's throw from the Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport, the Blue Bay lagoon is a real little piece of paradise in Mauritius. With turquoise water worthy of a postcard, this lagoon classified as a marine reserve allows the practice of snorkeling between two sunbathing sessions on the white sand of the splendid beaches that border it: the beach of La Cambuse in the south, the beach of Esny in the north, and the beach of Blue Bay itself. Your stay in Mauritius is sure to get off to a great start if your first stop is at Blue Bay!

Between corals, fishes and sea turtles, the Blue Bay lagoon is full of natural wonders to discover not only by snorkeling, but also during diving club trips. Numerous boat trips are also available to the island of Deux Cocos, as well as to the island of Aigrettes a little further north, in front of the beach of Pointe d'Esny. Whether by catamaran, speed boat or glass bottom boat, all types of sea outings are possible in Blue Bay!

Inland, the numerous sugar cane fields and the wilder coastline to the south, from Pointe Vacoas to the Natural Bridge, allow for beautiful quad or fat bike rides. Indeed, these all-terrain means of transportation offer a great freedom to travel on trails that are difficult to access by car! You can also choose to walk along the coast, or in the forest of royal palms behind the beach of La Cambuse.

And for history lovers, a short trip to Mahébourg, a village north of Blue Bay, will allow you to learn more about the past of Mauritius: the national history museum, the Pointe Canon, the monument commemorating the naval battle of the Vieux Grand-Port, the Ile de la Passe and the Ile au Phare at the edge of the lagoon, etc., Mahébourg is a must if you want to immerse yourself in the history of Mauritius!

Between moments of relaxation on the beach and moments of discovery in the lagoon or inland, Blue Bay and its surroundings will offer you a wonderful start to your vacation in Mauritius!

It was a great tour. Lots of stops, snorkelling, walking to the lighthouse, spotting a turtle and a great lunch.

We spent a really good time. But we thought that we would have more stop to make snorkeling. And we found that we didn't have a lot of time at l'île aux cerfs.
