About the activity
Take the ultimate leap of faith with a tandem skydiving experience near Athens, launching from 3,500 meters above a landscape of lakes and mountains. This is your chance to discover the thrill of skydiving in Greece with certified instructors, clear blue skies, and uninterrupted views in a safe, professional environment.
Your skydiving experience starts at Perneri Airport, just 50 minutes from Athens, in a peaceful and fully dedicated drop zone designed exclusively for skydiving activities. Upon arrival, you'll meet your certified USPA instructors from Skydive Greece, a school with over 32 years of experience in tandem skydives. After a quick check-in and paperwork, you'll receive a detailed safety briefing and a theory session on proper positioning, exit technique, and what to expect during the free fall and canopy descent.
You'll then gear up in a tandem harness and board a Cessna aircraft specially certified for skydiving. The climb to altitude takes about 18 minutes, giving you time to take in the incredible aerial views of the Greek countryside. At 11,500 feet (3,500 meters), it’s time to jump. You'll experience around 45 seconds of pure adrenaline as you free fall at speeds reaching 200 km/h.
At 1,500 meters, your instructor deploys the parachute and you transition into a calm, scenic glide under the canopy. For 5 to 7 minutes, you’ll float gently back to the landing area, surrounded by panoramic views of the lakes and mountains that make this spot ideal for skydiving in Athens. The soft landing brings your aerial adventure to a close, where your friends can watch and celebrate with you from the comfortable viewing area.
The entire skydiving activity near Athens lasts about 2 hours. You're advised to wear comfortable clothes and sneakers; a jumpsuit will be provided to wear over your clothing. Contact lenses can be worn under your goggles, and if you wear glasses, larger goggles are available to fit over them. For your safety, make sure to eat a light snack beforehand, and avoid diving in the 24 hours prior to your jump.
This tandem skydive over the scenic region near Athens offers more than just adrenaline: it’s a safe, expertly guided introduction to skydiving, ideal for those seeking both excitement and unforgettable views in Greece.
