Kiruna is located 145 km (90 miles) north of the Arctic Circle, situated in the northern part of Sweden in the province of Lapland. It's a perfect destination for curious adventurers who want to fully immerse themselves in Sweden's winter wonderland!
For this activity, you can either be picked up from Kiruna city and nearby (please specify your location upon booking) or meet at the starting point. Your experienced guide will greet you at the camp and introduce you to the adorable Siberian Huskies! The guide will start with a quick safety briefing. You will travel on a large dog sled that is steered by the professional guide. No experience whatsoever is required, just hop on and start your amazing journey!
The team of energetic dogs will pull you through the surrounding pine forests. During this time of year, the wilderness is transformed into a winter wonderland, with snow-laden trees and a crisp white terrain. You will pass by the Torne River, which forms the natural border between Sweden and Finland. The guide will share insights about this historical region. Midway through, you will break for a hot lunch or snacks and tea/coffee. When you return to the starting point, you will say goodbye to your new four-legged friends and be transported back to Kiruna.
