Spend a thrilling half-day on the La Hermida via ferrata course, at the entrance to the sublime Picos de Europa National Park!
From rock wall climbs to Tibetan bridge crossings, the La Hermida via ferrata offers an exceptional route set in superb natural scenery, worthy of the Picos de Europa National Park. Level K3 (medium difficulty), it is suitable even for beginners, thanks in no small part to the guide who will be with you every step of the way to ensure your safety and advise you on any obstacles you encounter along the way. You won't have to worry about a thing, as all the via ferrata equipment is provided and the guide will show you the way!
On the La Hermida via ferrata, not only are you prepared to climb rungs and steel cables, the typical via ferrata activities, but also to cross 2 impressive Tibetan bridges: the first consisting of a cable for your feet and a shoulder-high handrail to hold you, and the second consisting of wooden planks and 2 waist-high handrails, 100 metres above the ground and 95 metres long. All in all, it will take you around 3.5 hours to complete the route, not including the hour-long return walk along a path through a holm oak forest and then along the road leading down from Bejes to La Hermida.
Just a 20-minute drive north of Potes, La Hermida is the place to be if you love outdoor activities and thrills. As well as the La Hermida via ferrata, there are other routes to suit you, such as the one combining the El Milar via ferrata and the Escalera al Cielo via ferrata!
