Natural slides, jumps up to 6 metres high (optional), abseils up to 22 metres high and short climbing sections await you on the Navedo River Canyon route, in the Picos de Europa National Park. This canyoning tour, less than a 2-hour drive from Bilbao, takes around 2.5 hours to complete and includes all the sport's basic obstacles, making it the ideal way to discover or rediscover the activity, whether you are a beginner or an experienced canyoning enthusiast. And to take part, all you need is to know how to swim and be at least 10 years old, making the Navedo River Canyon accessible to as many people as possible!

This canyoning experience in the Picos de Europa takes place alongside qualified instructors from Canoe Aventura Trophy, an outdoor activity base located in Panes. They will provide all the equipment you need for the activity (wetsuit, helmet and harness), as well as transport from the base to the Navedo River Canyon. Throughout the descent, they will be on hand to help you over the obstacles and ensure your safety, guaranteeing you an unforgettable adventure in the sublime setting of the Picos de Europa National Park.

Practical information

Enjoy a canyoning adventure suitable for beginners with the Navedo River Canyon and its course of around 2.5 hours (difference in altitude of 130 metres), including:

  • jumps up to 6 metres high (optional);
  • abseiling up to 22 metres high;
  • natural slides;
  • small sections of climbing.
Course of events

Please allow around 3 hours for the whole experience.

  • Welcome at the Canoe Aventura Trophy base in Panes
  • Distribution of canyoning equipment and fitting of wetsuits
  • Transfer to the Navedo River Canyon (approx. 10 minutes)
  • 10-minute approach walk to the start of the canyon
  • Briefing on the course and safety instructions
  • Departure for a 2.5-hour canyoning tour down the Navedo River
  • 10-minute walk back to the vehicle
  • Transfer back to base (approx. 10 minutes)
  • De-equipping and end of the activity
Activity requirements

All participants must know how to swim to take part in this activity.

Written parental authorisation is required for minors to participate in this activity without an accompanying adult.
