Drive a snowmobile around the great snow plains of Svalbard by night on the prowl for the iconic Northern Lights!
Svalbard is located up halfway between the North of Norway and the North Pole, in the Arctic Ocean. This island, famous for its polar bears and great glaciers, offers ripe opportunities for sightings of the aurora borealis throughout the Winter months.
During this exciting snowmobile trip, you will be guided by local experts who know the best spots for the Northern Lights, also known as the polar lights. You will leave the light pollution of Longyearbyen and make way for the desert plains of the island on the search for the best conditions for Northern Lights sightings. Whether it be on your individual snowmobile or two-by-two, get ready to glide through untouched valleys, with nothing to light your path but dancing green flames and starlit snow!
Your experienced guides will go the extra mile in order to give you the best Northern Lights experience. That means there won't be a fixed route, and you will explore the island in a completely unique path. The experts do all the research necessary to ensure a maximum chance of sightings, tailoring their itinirary based on the most recent Northern Lights and weather forecast.
If you select the dinner option, your adventure will begin at a traditional Gamme, which are indigenous Sami cabins in the plains. There, you will enjoy a delicious 3 course meal by the light of a big fireplace - although you and your guides will continue to keep an eye out for potential Northern Lights. Bellies full, you will then venture onto the Snowmobiles to continue your search.
