This trip begins in Bergen, a vibrant city located in Vestland County on the southwestern coast of Norway. From Bergen, you’ll travel along the impressive Sognefjord, the deepest and longest fjord in Norway, offering stunning views of the unique Norwegian landscapes!

The full-day adventure begins at the starting point in Bergen, where you’ll be welcomed on board a large ferry boat. After a quick safety briefing, the captain will set sail along the picturesque Sognefjord. Along the way, you can relax and admire the stunning natural surroundings. Then, you’ll arrive in Balestrand, a charming village located along the northern shore of the Sognefjord.

Balestrand is an artistic village renowned for its breathtaking backdrop of majestic mountains, cascading waterfalls, and the crystal-clear waters of the Sognefjord. At Balestrand, you’ll change to a smaller sightseeing boat and travel further into Fjærlandsfjorden, another idyllic fjord. You have the option of purchasing a meal, snacks and beverages on board the boat.

Then, you’ll arrive in Fjærland, another scenic village situated in the Sogndal municipality in Vestland County. Here, a bus will take you to the Norwegian Glacier Museum, a family-friendly museum that gives you information about Norwegian glaciers and the climate through interactive exhibits and displays exploring the science and history of glaciers. The tour continues to the majestic Bøyabreen Glacier, a branch of the Jostedalsbreen Glacier. You’ll admire its unique landscape and capture some photos. The bus will then take you back to Fjærland Quay, where you’ll enjoy the scenic return journey by boat to Balestrand and the starting point in Bergen.
