On arrival at Reykjavik domestic airport, you'll meet your pilot who will accompany you on this helicopter flight to the Þórisjökull glacier. Once the safety instructions have been given, you'll set off on your 110 to 140-minute adventure in the air aboard an AS350 B2 Ecureuil helicopter with space for 5 passengers or an Airbus EC130 with 6 seats.
You'll admire the impressive Glymur waterfall, the Þingvellir national park, the Golden Circle, the Hengill geothermal zone and the city of Reykjavik during this flight.
You'll set foot on a glacier and smell the fresh Arctic air! Walk on the fresh snow and enjoy this special moment for 15 minutes.
Your itinerary continues towards the Hengill volcano, where you will make a 2nd stop. Here you can explore the hot springs and pools of bubbling mud that are still flowing from the depths of the earth...

Practical information
Total duration 110-140 minutes. 60-80 minute guided helicopter flight and a 15-minute landing on a glacier and a 15-minute landing by a remote geothermal area.
- Arrival at the aerodrome and meeting with the pilot
- Departure for the flight to the Þórisjökull glacier and the Hengill volcano
- Flight over Glymur waterfall, Þingvellir National Park, Golden Circle and Hengill geothermal zone
- 15-minute landing on the glacier then 15 minutes on the volcano
- Return to the aerodrome and end of the activity
Children must be accompanied by an adult.
Lap-held children under 1 y/o free of charge.
The weight limit is 120 kg per passenger. This will ensure that everyone on the tour has a comfortable and safe ride! Any passengers over 120 kg / 265 lbs / 19 stone are required to pay for 1.5 seats in the helicopter.
Departure times are subject to confirmation: morning departures vary from 08:00 to 13:00, and evening departures from 13:00 to 20:00.
All flight times are to be determined by the instructor according to the weather forecast.
The duration depends on the size of the helicopter and the weather conditions - 3 people minimum per flight.
