Ice canoeing initiation on the St. Lawrence & Spa in Quebec City

The Canot à Glace Expérience team invites you to join them on a unique winter ice canoeing experience in Quebec City before relaxing in a spa with friends or family. Ice canoeing on the St. Lawrence is a must-do activity in Quebec City, and finishing it off with a spa experience is sure to make your day even more unforgettable!

Before setting off on your ice canoeing adventure, you'll put on your equipment and the guides will teach you the basic techniques and safety instructions for this sport. A group of 5 canoeists will embark on a thrilling introduction to the sport. Depending on weather conditions and tides, the crew will adapt the route. When the St Lawrence is full of water, you'll paddle along using large oars. When the river is full of ice, you'll have to leave your oars on board. Equipped with your crampons, you will position yourself on a "scooter" and the canoe will make its way through the ice.

Halfway through your ice canoe trip on the St. Lawrence, you'll take a break on the ice to enjoy a hot chocolate. This will also be an opportunity to take some souvenir photos of the breathtaking panorama of Quebec City's old town. After about two hours on the ice, you'll return to dry land to warm up. As the guides are equipped with cameras, you'll be able to pick up photos and videos of this unique moment free of charge.

After this introduction to ice canoeing in Quebec City, you'll have the opportunity to find comfort at the Strøm Spa Nordique, located in Old Quebec. You'll be able to enjoy a spa experience that follows on from this unique day, with whirlpool baths, Finnish saunas and a eucalyptus steam bath. For added peace and comfort, the spa is only open to people aged 16 and over.
