Discover nature in the heart of Quebec's Laurentian mountains on a snowshoeing excursion in Val-des-Lacs!
Just an hour and a half drive from Montreal and 30 minutes from Mont-Tremblant, the Kanatha Aki nature centre offers excursions combining snowshoeing in the Laurentians and discovering its flora and fauna. For 3 or 5 hours, depending on your choice, you will have the pleasure of snowshoeing around Val-des-Lacs (on your own for the 3-hour excursion, with a guide for the 5-hour one), then visiting Quebec's first Athabascaes Wood Bison reserve, as well as the activity centre's kennel. A host of animal encounters await you!
If you opt for the 5-hour excursion, you will also enjoy an ice fishing session: your catch can be cooked on site during the meal included, or you can take it home with you. You will be accompanied on this outing by a guide who will teach you how to recognise footprints and discover different aspects of nature as you snowshoe through the Laurentian mountains. You might even be lucky enough to find tracks of wolves, coyotes, or even a Canadian lynx!
Whether you are a nature lover or simply looking for a great outdoor experience close to Mont-Tremblant and Montreal, you can be sure to come away delighted from your snowshoeing excursion in the Laurentians, at Val-des-Lacs!
