Rome: What to do when you get there?
Rome is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful cities in the world. This Vatican capital has a history that spans more than two and a half thousand years, making it one of the oldest inhabited cities in Europe.
The Italian capital is home to many magnificent monuments and parks; Castel Sant'Angelo, The Pantheon, The Palazzo del Quirinale, Piazza del Campidoglio, Via del Teatro di Marcello, The gardens of Villa Borghese and this is just a drop in the ocean of what you could see, the list really does go on and on. It’s no wonder that millions of tourists flock there every year to discover its sublime architecture and savour its world renowned cuisine.
But not many tourists think of extreme sports when holidaying in Rome...
A mere hour’s train ride from Rome will take you to the coastal city of Nettuno. The perfect spot for skydiving. Yes that’s right you can add skydiving to your list of things to do when in Rome!
Nettuno is a beautiful city that is surrounded by lush vegetation and located only a few kilometres from the Tyrrhenian Sea. It is blessed with sunshine all year long, which is why it’s ideal for a 4.000 metre tandem skydive.
Rome is lucky enough to enjoy a Mediterranean climate with cool, humid winters and warm, dry summers, making it perfect for outdoor activities such as skateboarding and longboarding.
If urban sports is more you thing then you must visit the two exceedingly popular skate parks in Rome. One is called Skate Park Cinetown and is located not too far from Cinecittà, THE spot where the Italian film industry has been producing movies for many years.
The second skate park is called The Bunker and is situated close to Petroselli Park and has a large variety of skating features for all skateboarders and longboarders.
