Practical information
Desert survival course in southern Morocco: the activity can be adapted to the group!
Day 1 - Arrival in Marrakech, welcome and overnight in a riad or hotel in the heart of the medina (meal not included).
Day 2 - Transfer to southern Morocco at 8 a.m., where you will discover the snows of Mount Toubkal as you pass over a pass at an altitude of 2,260 metres, the arid high plateaux of the Atlas mountains, but also the oases of the lush valleys. In the evenings, you will stay with local people, far from the tourist circuits and in authentic surroundings.
Day 3 - Start of the trek with an orientation day: cross an arid mountain (rock desert) with your maps and compasses to find an oasis where you can spend the night and regain your strength. You will learn how to set traps and make the collected water drinkable, before spending the night in a bivouac under the stars.
Day 4 - Descent to a dry lake, in a western setting, where you are likely to come across local inhabitants with 4, 6 or 8 legs: it is up to you to catch them and make them your meal. Your camel driver will teach you how to bake bread directly in the hot sand, before you spend the night in a bivouac under a makeshift shelter.
Day 5 - Walk to the "Heart of the Camel", a 360° site with no sign of civilisation, for a night's bivouac in a wadi. You will learn the 5 basic methods of making fire without lighters or matches.
Day 6 - Cross a stony desert to reach the dunes: under a blazing sun, you will learn the Tuareg's secrets for withstanding the heat. Bivouac in the dunes under the stars and learn to orient yourself by looking at the stars.
Day 7 - Meeting in the desert with an all-terrain vehicle for a return to "civilisation" on a real off-road route. Arrival in Marrakech where a superb evening in a riad awaits you: relaxation, luxury and pleasure, hot shower and oriental meal on the menu (evening meal not included).
