Survival Course in Morocco departing from Marrakech

Please allow 8 days on site for the entire experience.

• Day 1: Meet at Marrakech Airport before 8.00 pm, transfer and overnight stay in a family-run riad in the medina of Marrakech (evening meal not included)
• Day 2: Breakfast at 8.00 am, followed by a transfer to south-eastern Morocco via Mount Toubkal, the pass at an altitude of 2,260 m, lunch stop in Ouarzazate (not included), crossing of the Drâa Valley and a 3-hour off-road 4x4 drive through the reg from Zagora to meet up with the nomadic team
• Day 3: Equipment check (removal of all food, lighters and mobile phones with internet access), safety briefing, introduction to Tuareg survival rules, start of the trek with an orientation workshop on arid mountain terrain using a map and compass, followed by workshops on trapping and water purification before camping under the stars
• Day 4: Descent to a dried-up lake amidst rock formations and natural pyramids; gathering local wildlife for the meal; a workshop on baking bread in the hot sand led by the camel driver; and an overnight stay in a makeshift shelter or under the stars
• Day 5: Making our way towards the dunes of the Sahara, searching for a water source by following animal tracks, walking in a caravan across the golden sand ridges, a practical workshop on the five methods of lighting a fire without a lighter or matches, rationing water and spending the night under one of the world’s most beautiful starry skies
• Day 6: An expedition through arid terrain under the sun to learn the Tuareg secrets for beating the heat, leading camels, tracking jerboas and scorpions, then arriving at the semi-permanent camp at the foot of a large dune to enjoy the tents, a meal, a night’s sleep and a session of sandboarding
• Day 7: Breakfast, followed by a 2-hour return journey in an off-road vehicle in rally-raid style along off-road tracks to Marrakech; check-in at a riad with a hot shower and a relaxing evening (lunch and dinner not included)
• Day 8: Return transfer to Marrakech Airport
• The end of the adventure

• Filter flask (OKO type) or empty plastic water bottle
• Food bowl, spoon and glass (preferably made of metal)
• Head torch
• A pair of sunglasses
• Knife
• Scarf or hat
• Sun cream
• Foam floor mat
• Axe (optional)
• Bin bag
• Organic soap and bath towel
• Camera or GoPro (permitted)
• Mobile phone (permitted)

You need to be in good physical condition to take part in this activity.

Minors (under 18) must be accompanied by an adult.

During the immersive trek, the use of lighters, personal food and mobile phones with internet access is strictly prohibited.
