Embark on a unique combination adventure - a boat tour on Lysefjord and a guided summit hike to Pulpit Rock from Stavanger!
This trip departs from Stavanger, a vibrant coastal city in southwestern Norway, known as a gateway to natural wonders like Preikestolen and Lysefjorden. Preikestolen, also known as Pulpit Rock, is one of Norway’s most iconic natural landmarks, a dramatic cliff that rises 604 metres (1,982 feet) almost vertically above the Lysefjord. On this RIB tour from Stavanger, you'll embark on one of Norway's most famous trails on a hike to Pulpit Rock!
The adventure begins at the starting point in Stavanger, where you'll be greeted on board the comfortable Rigid Inflatable Boat (RIB) by the experienced guide. After gearing up with your equipment (a floating suit, life vest, gloves, and goggles), the boat tour from Stavanger begins! The boat will speed along this iconic fjord, passing Norway's dramatic coastal scenery. Along the way, you'll witness crystal-clear waters, lush greenery, and tall cliffs. The guide will share insights about the region as you meander up close to millennia-old landscapes, including hidden caves and gargantuan waterfalls.
Then, you'll arrive at the towering cliff and prepare for your summit hike to Pulpit Rock. The expert nature guide will lead you along the moderate, well-marked trail. You'll pass small mountain lakes, wildflowers, and granite formations carved by glaciers, as you learn more about this captivating region in Norway. At the top, you'll step onto the Preikestolen plateau, a flat 25 x 25 metre cliff top. Feel the thrill of standing on the edge of the world, as you admire mesmerising panoramic views of the surrounding cliffs and the Lysefjord below. The unparalleled views from this peak are some of the best in Norway! Afterwards, you'll hike back to the starting point for your return boat trip to Stavanger.
