Spend a Polar Night chasing the Northern Lights!
This adventure will take you from your accommodation in Longyearbyen all the way to the wild nature of Sassendalen, via Tempelfjord, the Brattlidalen valley, and more, on the hunt for the infamous Northern Lights. On Polar Night, you will snowmobile through these places under the mystical light of the moon and the twinkling stars. Along the way, you will make a lunch spot at the Northern Lights camp, where your guide will set up a crackling fire and some candles inside a lavvu. This traditional Sami tent, adorned with reindeer fur benches, will keep you snug and cosy as you warm your fingers by the flames and enjoy a hot lunch and drinks.
After lunch, you will be off again to chase the aurora borealis. Svalbard is one of the only populated places in the world where the Northern Lights show up during the daytime, making this excursion especially unique. Zoom along the snow and cross your fingers under your mittens that the dancing pink, green, and red lights show up above you during this magical drive.
Before departing Longyearbyen, you will be provided with thermal overalls, mittens, balaclavas, boots, and helmets to keep you safe and warm during the journey. Your guide will provide the food, so all you need with you is your driver's license, camera and some warm thermal underwear and sweaters.
Join your guide on this all-inclusive 7-hour trip through the dark, mystical Svalbardian wilderness!
