Head north on a RIB boat to explore the active glaciers and impressive mountains which define this untouched part of the archipelago. Lunch is included onboard!
Rigid inflatable boats (RIB) are the perfect way to discover the coast of Svalbard, as it allows you to get as close as possible to all the impressive ice formations along the way. In the Summertime, you will see the extent to which the climate dictates the architecture of the island, as the active glaciers shrink and snowy mountains thaw to grey with the rising sun.
You will head up the Isfjord, where the warm and cold ocean currents merge to create rare and precious conditions for the biodiversity of Svalbard to prosper. Keep a keen eye out for the black-legged kittiwake and puffin at water level, as your hair sweeps in the sea breeze.
Your captain will provide you with lunch and drinks along the way, and tell you stories of the island so you can disembark the boat experts of the Svalbardian coast, its climate, and its tremendous yet fragile glaciers.
Come aboard and discover more about this unique archipelago's relationship with the currents and climate!
