And a day trip from Reykjavík to Vík í Mýrdal is the perfect way to do just that! Aboard a 19-seater minibus, your small group led by a local guide will have the pleasure of discovering the richness of southern Iceland, with its magnificent landscapes and long history.
Your excursion to Vík í Mýrdal from Reykjavík will take you along Iceland's legendary circular road to see the famous Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss waterfalls, then to the Sólheimajökull glacier where you will walk for around 30 minutes. You will then make your way to Reynisfjara beach, south of Vík, where the panoramic views of the ocean and the cliffs of Dyrhólaey will leave you breathless.
With views of the Eyjafjallajökull volcano along the way on a clear day, there will be no shortage of great photo opportunities on your tour of southern Iceland from Reykjavík!

- Pick-up in Reykjavík (may take up to 30 minutes)
- Approx. 2 hours drive by minibus to Seljalandsfoss waterfall
- Head for the Skógafoss waterfall (around 30 minutes' drive), then the Solheimajökull glacier (15 minutes' drive), where you can enjoy a short walk to admire it
- Next stop at Reynisfjara beach (approx. 30 minutes' drive) where, in summer, you may be able to spot puffins on the Dýrholaey cliff
- Last stop at Vík í Mýrdal before returning to Reykjavík by minibus (approx. 2.5 hours drive)
A minimum number of 4 participants is required for this activity to take place.
It is very important to wear warm clothing, preferably waterproof, and good hiking boots so that you can enjoy the excursion to the full.
