Discover the unparalleled beauty of Iceland's Southern Coast on this 11-hour Sólheimajökull glacier hiking excursion!
Discover the unparalleled beauty of Iceland's Southern Coast on this 11-hour Private Sólheimajökull Glacier Hiking Excursion on the Southern Coast.
You will be able to get up close and personal with some of Iceland's most beautiful and popular spots.
Throughout the day you will visit Skogafoss, a 65-meter tall and 25-meter wide waterfall, which is one of the biggest waterfalls in the country. Legend has it that there is a chest of gold hidden behind the waterfall. You will have to be as strong as a Viking to get to it though.
Sólheimajökull is an outlet glacier of the Mýrdalsjökull, Iceland’s 4th largest glacier on the South Coast of Iceland. This is where you will hike on the ice, exploring glacial features and learning about its formation.
You will see a beautiful black sand beach, Reynisfjara and at times incredibly powerful waves from the Atlantic Ocean. There are also some pretty awesome rock formations here called “Reynisdrangar” that rise from the ocean close to the shore.
The last stop will be at Seljalandsfoss, certainly not one of Iceland's biggest waterfalls but what makes it different is that most of the year you can actually walk behind the cascading water. This really makes for a unique experience.
