Santorini is an iconic Greek island located in the southern Aegean Sea, forming part of the Cyclades group of islands. It is renowned for its captivating landscapes, sandy beaches and crystal-clear waters. This activity begins in Emporio, one of the largest and oldest villages of Santorini, known for its traditional Cycladic architecture, narrow alleys, and historic charm.

The SSI Try Scuba program is an entry-level session that allows you to experience scuba diving for the first time. To start, you'll meet the certified instructors at the dive centre in Emporio, Santorini. They will provide the full scuba diving equipment (mask, regulator, fins, boots, BCD, tank and weights). After going through the basic theory of scuba diving and learning about the equipment's use, you will travel to the dive site in Santorini.

The dive takes place in the mesmerising surroundings of Santorini's Caldera, an active volcanic crater boasting breathtaking views and natural wonders. This world-renowned destination entices visitors with its awe-inspiring landscapes and rich history. Upon arrival, you'll gear up and gradually enter the water. After getting used to the equipment, it's time for your first dive! Under the guidance of the instructor, you'll explore the spectacular underwater landscape.

Discover the unique geological formation of the Caldera, created by volcanic activity over centuries. Its dramatic cliffs and azure waters provide a stunning backdrop for your scuba diving adventure. As you descend into the crystal-clear waters, you may encounter colourful fish, fascinating coral formations, and other mesmerising underwater inhabitants. You'll dive to a maximum depth of 5 metres (15 feet).

At the end of the exciting diving experience, you'll return to the dive centre in Emporio. Take some time to explore the captivating west side of the island, known for its picturesque charm and breathtaking sunsets. You can indulge in the local culture, visit quaint villages, or unwind on pristine beaches.
