Just a 35-minute drive from Avallon, the Chalaux River offers the chance to go rafting in the Morvan, a fun and refreshing experience that will delight groups of friends and families looking for an outdoor activity in the region. Aboard an inflatable boat that can accommodate up to 7 passengers (including an instructor), you will have the pleasure of navigating 5 km of the Chalaux River from Saint-Martin-du-Puy, a section of the class 3 river between the Chaumeçon dam and Chalaux. Numerous class 3 and 4 rapids and technical sections await you along the way to spice up your rafting adventure on the Chalaux River!
Fully equipped, including a neoprene overall to keep you warm as the river's 10-12°C water splashes over you, you will negotiate the obstacles in front of you in complete safety under the guidance of your instructor who will be stationed at the rear of the raft. You will face a number of amusing sections as you raft down the Chalaux River, including the ‘ball pool’ rapids, the ‘400 m’ rapids and the ‘perte des vaux’ - enough to keep you on your toes for the 1 hour to 1 hour and 15 minutes you will spend on the water!
