Renowned for its colourful mix of turquoise water and limestone rock, the Galamus gorges is an ideal place to try canyoning at Saint-Paul-de-Fenouillet, on the border between the Aude and Pyrénées-Orientales departments. Halfway between Quillan and Perpignan, you will find the Galamus Canyon on the Agly River, a 2-hour aquatic course accessible to anyone who can swim and immerse themselves from the age of 8. Even those with a fear of heights can take part, as there is no abseiling or mandatory jumping involved!
The Gorges de Galamus Canyon is perfect for families looking for a refreshing and fun activity near Perpignan, with a descent consisting mainly of white-water swimming and natural slides. It is a fun activity, carried out alongside a state-certified instructor to ensure your safety and teach you the basics of canyoning.

Practical information
Descent of the Gorges de Galamus Canyon for 2 hours (allow around 3.5 hours of activity in total) including:
- white water swimming;
- natural slides;
- jumps of up to 6 metres, all of which can be bypassed.
- Meeting with the instructor at the car park N°2 of the Belvédère at Saint-Paul-de-Fenouillet (entrance to the Gorges de Galamus on the Pyrénées-Orientales side)
- Handing over of canyoning equipment (neoprene wetsuit, helmet, harness, etc.)
- Approximately 30-minute approach walk
- Briefing on the descent and safety instructions, then equipment (approx. 30 minutes)
- Departure for the 2 hours descent of the Galamus Canyon
- Return walk of around 5 minutes
- De-equipping, debriefing of the activity (approx. 15 minutes) and end of the activity
All participants must know how to swim at least 25 metres and be able to immerse themselves to take part in this activity.
All children must be accompanied by an adult.
For safety reasons, it is forbidden to go canyoning in water shoes.
Once your booking has been confirmed, please contact the instructor to confirm the meeting time and point.
If you wish, the instructor can provide you with canyoning shoes and/or neoprene socks if you need them on site.
You will be able to retrieve the photos of your activity on a USB key (not supplied, you must bring your own).
