About the activity

Discover the thrill of snowmobiling on this fun-filled safari at Lake Inari, departing from Ivalo! In addition, you'll also meet and feed the reindeer as well as enjoy a delicious lunch! Welcoming adventurers ages 6 and up.

Located in Northern Finland, Ivalo is situated within the Arctic Circle and is part of the Finnish Lapland region. Renowned for its remote and breathtaking wilderness, it is a popular destination for outdoor adventure enthusiasts, especially during the winter months.

Your adventure begins after being picked up from one of the listed meeting points in Ivalo (please specify when booking). You and your group (a maximum of 7 participants) will be outfitted in winter gear, including thermal overalls, boots, and a balaclava, as soon as you arrive at the base camp. Then, your experienced guide will provide a safety briefing along with an introduction to snowmobiling. Please note that all snowmobile drivers must be at least 18 years of age and be in possession of a valid driver's license.

With your helmet on, you'll feel a rush of adrenaline as you set out into the snowy landscapes of Ivalo at high speeds. You'll traverse the frozen Ivalo River and Lake Inari before arriving at Aurora Island and its private wilderness camp. There, you'll meet the adorable reindeer and have the opportunity to feed them.

Lunch will be served by the fire in a Lappish teepee, followed by hot drinks. (Vegetarian options are available, please specify any dietary requirements when booking.) As you warm up and relax around the fire, your guide will share fascinating insights into life in Lapland and its majestic reindeer. At the end of the excursion, you'll return to the original departure point in Ivalo with lifelong memories, and, hopefully, a newfound love for snowmobiling!

It was a great tour where we had fun cruising across lake Inari and later were able to feed the reindeers and got served a full homemade menu by Tina which was delicious (also met the cutest puppy ever)

Pasemos en un grupo pequeño desde la oficina de Ivalo Safaris (donde now dieron toda la ropa que podriamos necesitar para aguantar el frio) hasta el Lago Inari donde las motos de nieve nos esperaban. Fue maravilloso! El escenario es espectacular y hemos visto reinos en varios ocasiones. La luz invernal fue algo muy especial. Después fuimos al pueblo de Tina y su marido para conocer sus propios reinos y almorzar. Nuestra guía, Laura, es un “super woman!” Hizo todo: nos guiaba, cocinaba, y explicaba todo. Una experiencia fascinante.

Besser als erwartet....und das Mittagessen war recht üppig und toll gemacht, mit offenen Feuer, Würstchen und leckerer Suppe...sogar einen Blaubeerkuchen als Nachtisch gab es..Auf dem Rückweg haben wir dann mal richtig Gas gegeben...einfach super...
