Northern Lights Snowmobiling Excursion in Ivalo

This trip takes place from Ivalo, a charming village located in northern Finland, in the Lapland region. Due to its proximity to the Arctic Circle and dark night skies, Northern Lights viewing in Ivalo is very popular!

You'll begin your snowmobiling trip in Ivalo by meeting the guide directly at the starting point, or with pick-up from your listed location in the village (please specify when booking). After being greeted by your certified guide, you'll receive the snowmobiling equipment and thermal clothing to keep you warm throughout the excursion. No previous experience is required, the guide will also go through a safety briefing and driving instructions. You can choose to drive on the vehicle solo, or share between two participants, with one driver and one passenger.

Once everyone is prepared, the snowmobiling in Ivalo begins! Following the guide, you'll set off driving on the snowmobile route in the Northern pine forest, travelling along the delightful Ivalo River. This area is home to pristine wilderness, with snow-laden trees, frozen lakes, and tall fells. You may even pass local reindeer on the trail! As you leave behind the lights of the village, the mesmerising polar night sky will come alive with twinkling stars and, if you're lucky, the enchanting Aurora Borealis! You'll stop to admire the Northern Lights and capture some photos, before returning to the original starting point in Ivalo.
