Come spend an unforgettable half-day trip on our sailboat, enjoying the clear Cretan waters up to Dia Island.
The journey will begin at the port of Heraklion, and the Dia crossing to the island will take approximately one hour. After we depart, we will entertain and inform you with a story about the beautiful island's history.
Dia is a small uninhabited island located north of Crete. It is about 7 miles from Heraklion and is administratively part of the Municipality of Chersonissos. It is 5 kilometers long, 3 kilometers wide, and 12 square kilometers in size. Paximadi and Petalidi are two small islets north of Dia.
The south side of the island has four bays: the bay of Agios Georgios, which is Dia's only port and beach, the Bay of Caparis, the Bay of Panagia, and the Bay of Agrielia. The bay of Aginara is on the east side.
Dia is part of the European Nature Network (Natura 2000) due to the island's vital biodiversity, and it is a controlled hunting area. There are many protected species of flora and fauna, including the Albinaria retusa snail, lizard, Oryctolagus wild rabbits, the well-known kri-kri (goat), and plants like Carlina diae.
Once we arrive at Dia Island, you will have time to relax, swim, paddleboard, snorkel, and enjoy some tasty snacks! After that, we'll begin returning to the port and enjoy a beautiful sunset (if you choose the afternoon trip 16:30 - 21:00).
Depending on the wind condition we will be able to sail with the sail.
You're on vacation... A watchword for this relaxing experience! So book now and join us in this adventure!
