Snorkelling in Santa Maria is an accessible adventure that allows you to admire the marine life of Cape Verde. The island of Sal is home to many pristine reefs, rich in marine life, including Mediterranean and tropical fish. You can also admire native species such as sea slugs, rays and bull sharks if you're lucky. This region of the Atlantic Ocean is also home to many turtles, all year round!
For this small group activity with a maximum of 16 participants, everything is organised to make your life easier. A transfer is arranged between your accommodation and the diving centre. On site, you will meet the centre's friendly instructors and sign the administrative formalities. Then you'll test your equipment (fins, mask, snorkel), before boarding the boat to go to your snorkelling site on the island of Sal.
Once you've arrived, you can take to the water with your instructor. He or she will guide you around the island of Sal's exceptional sites, including colourful reefs and a small shipwreck. For around 40 minutes, you'll snorkel in the translucent waters of the Atlantic, amazed by each new discovery. While your guide shows you around, the skipper will be on board the zodiac and stay close by. You'll enjoy a perfect compromise between exploration and safety!

You need to be able to swim to take part in this activity.
Minors must be accompanied by an adult. If they are not, they must show parental authorisation to take part.
Only snorkellers are allowed on the boat. Accompanying persons are not permitted.

The transfer service is only available from the city of Santa Maria. Please be ready 5 minutes in advance for departure.
Participants who wear glasses can bring their own mask adapted to their eyesight. Alternatively, ask your optician if you would like to wear contact lenses during the activity.
