Diving in Santa Maria is an adventure that will allow you to discover the beauty of the underwater world. The island of Sal is home to many pristine reefs, rich in marine life, including Mediterranean and tropical fish. You can also admire native species such as sea slugs, rays and bull sharks if you're lucky. This region of the Atlantic Ocean is also home to many turtles, all year round!
In this small group activity with a maximum of 4 participants, everything is organised to make your life easier. A transfer is provided between your accommodation and the diving centre. On site, you'll meet the centre's friendly instructors and complete the administrative formalities. Next, a theory lesson will introduce you to some of the basics you need to know before getting into the water. You'll test the equipment, then take your first dip in the pool. Of course, an instructor will be with you throughout your dive to guarantee your safety and guide you.
After this first stage, the instructors will take you out to sea and you will board a boat that will take you to your dive site near Santa Maria. This first discovery of scuba diving will take place in shallow waters with your instructor, the aim being above all to familiarise you with the unique sensations of diving and to show you the beauty of the Atlantic underwater world. One thing's for sure: you'll leave with unforgettable memories of your first dive in Cape Verde!

Discover scuba diving for the very first time with a professional instructor in Santa Maria, Cape Verde!
- 4 participants per group max.
Please allow around 3 hours in total for this activity, including 2 dives of around 45 minutes each.
- Transfer from your hotel/accommodation at 1.30pm.
- Arrival at the dive centre.
- Administrative formalities.
- In-class theory.
- Testing the equipment.
- Pool diving at the Hilton Hotel.
- Board the boat and travel to the dive site.
- Shallow water diving.
- Return to the dive centre and then to your hotel/accommodation.
You need to be able to swim to take part in this activity.
To dive, you must not have any of the following contraindications (respiratory problems (exertional asthma), heart problems, ENT problems, lung problems, diabetes or epilepsy). If in doubt, don't hesitate to contact us or ask for medical advice.
If you have any health problems, a medical form must be presented on the day of the activity.
Minors must be accompanied by an adult. If they are not, they must show parental authorisation to take part.
Only divers may board the boat. Accompanying persons are not allowed on board.
The transfer service is only available from the city of Santa Maria. Please be ready 5 minutes in advance for departure.
Participants who wear glasses can bring their own mask adapted to their eyesight. Alternatively, ask your optician if you would like to wear contact lenses during the activity.
Pregnant women and people with mental or physical disabilities are not allowed to take part in this activity.
