Learn about astronomy in Teide National Park and enjoy a magical experience in a place renowned the world over for its stargazing!
Imagine spending a cosy evening under a sparkling Tenerife sky, stargazing in the Teide National Park. In the heart of this exceptional natural site, you'll be right next to Spain's highest point: the Teide volcano (3,715 m above sea level), as well as the Roques de García, rock formations with very distinctive shapes. As night falls, this already singular and special place takes on an even more unique atmosphere, and its sky is transformed into a fascinating tableau for astronomy enthusiasts!
Your stargazing activity in the Teide National Park takes place at an altitude of 2,100 metres, which makes the atmosphere less dense and reduces disturbances to the luminosity of the stars. Don't forget to dress warmly, because in winter the temperature can drop as low as 2°C! You'll also be far from light pollution, so you'll be in perfect conditions to admire the cosmos. What's more, as the Canary Islands are close to the Tropic, many more stars are visible than at other latitudes further north!
This activity is accessible to all, even wheelchair users, and is guaranteed to make for a magical evening during your stay in the Canary Islands. During the activity, your professional guide will comment on the star observations to teach you about the science, history and mythology of the sky. Top-of-the-range equipment will be at your disposal, allowing you to get a clear view of the different objects in our galaxy: stars, double stars, nebulae and clusters.
Although your stargazing in Tenerife theoretically lasts around 2 hours, your astronomy guide has only one priority: to share his passion with you and offer you the best possible service. So he'll be happy to extend your stargazing time with the most enthusiastic of you.
Book your stargazing in the Teide National Park and take home a photo souvenir of this astronomy experience in Tenerife!
