Canyoning Down the Ribeira dos Caldeiroes in São Miguel, Azores

- Pick up at your accommodation (early spots)

- Arrival at meeting point and introduction to your instructor

- Equipment distribution and safety briefing

- 20-30-minute hike to approach the canyon's starting point with different activity briefings in certain strategic stops

- Canyoning experience - Jump, slide down a natural slide, abseil, swim

- Hike back to the meeting point

- Equipment return and end of activity

A normal level of fitness is recommended.

This tour sometimes includes: walking on unstable terrain and slippery rocks, muddy slopes and small uphill and downhill scrambles.

You do not need to know how to swim, just be comfortable in the water. However, let your instructors know if this is the case.

This activity is not recommended for persons with back problems. Please let your instructor know of any previous injuries, medical conditions or health problems when booking.

This activity is not recommended for disabled or pregnant people.

For the health and safety of all participants there are a few restrictions:

– Height min. 1.20 m (3 ft 11 in);

– Weight min. 20 Kg (44 lb);

– Weight max. 120 Kg (265 lb);

– Maximum waist circumference (harness): 1.40 m (55 in).

Depending on the time slot you choose you will get picked up at your accommodation (for an extra price) or not. Early time slots come with pick up and drop off, while later ones come without it. (the instructor will need extra time to pick you up).
