Practical information
Join this introductory paragliding course in Morzine and become a FFVL-licensed pilot!
- Each day you will practice from 9am to 12.30pm / 1pm.
- A 30-minute theory lesson will follow each session on the school slope.
First 2 or 3 days :
Exercises on the "training slope" where, as the name suggests, you gradually learn the basic movements for preparing your wing, inflating it, bringing it up over your head, then flying it while jogging before gently lowering it to the ground to stop, all without taking off.
Over the course of the tests, you'll be doing a few 'chip jumps', i.e. mini-flights taking off from a few metres to a few dozen metres. As you'll see, this is enough to give you your first real taste of the thrill of flying.
The 'training slope' is the most physical part of the apprenticeship, with a lot of back and forth on the ground necessary to understand and automate the sequence of movements required to inflate, take off, fly and land smoothly and safely.
Day 3 to 5:
You'll be able to take off for your first big flights from the Super-Morzine site, with a 600 m difference in altitude. An instructor will guide you on take-off and another on landing. And to make the most of these unforgettable moments, you'll leave the planet with a radio on your shoulder on the heart side, and guided throughout the flight by gentle voices.
You need to be in good physical condition to take part in this course.
You will need to pick up your licence directly from the school if you have not already registered online.
