Practical information

Experience an exceptional day out with this activity combining a panoramic helicopter flight, a landing on a high mountain ridge and a canyoning excursion including a 60-metre abseil!

  • Level: beginner - intermediate.
  • All abseils are compulsory.
Course of events
  • Meet your guide at the David Thompson resort, 15 minutes before departure time.
  • Equipment and safety briefing: you will have a quick chat with your guide to discuss the progress of the excursion, equipment and safety.
  • 5-minute helicopter flight to the starting point of the canyoning excursion.
  • Canyoning: From here, you descend the canyon (between 4 and 6 hours inside the canyon, depending on the size of the group).
  • Return walk (30 minutes).
  • Shuttle service to the helicopter base (10 minutes).
Activity requirements

You don't need any previous canyoning experience to take part, but you do need to be in good physical shape and comfortable with whitewater and abseiling.

You shouldn't be afraid of heights to take part in this excursion.

Minors must be accompanied by an adult.

A minimum of 2 participants is required for the activity to take place.

  • Minimum height: 137 cm (4'6'')
  • Maximum waist size: 107 cm (for trouser size 42)
Special terms

This canyon includes a 60-metre waterfall. If your fear of heights prevents you from abseiling down this canyon, a return helicopter will have to be called at your expense and no refund will be given.

If one person wants to avoid the 60-metre abseil obstacle, the whole group would have to avoid it.

You may want to bring a sturdy box to store your glasses in case you need to put them away, as well as a small cord so you don't lose them.

Contact lenses are no problem either, as long as you remember to close your eyes under water.

Please arrive at the meeting point 15 minutes early.

Pets are not allowed on the tour.

This activity is not suitable for pregnant women or people with physical disabilities.
