Practical information
A day of snowshoeing and chamois watching in the Giffre valley with a professional guide who will introduce you to these animals. For lunch, you can either bring a picnic or enjoy a fondue in a private mountain pasture (to be paid for on site).
- An 8km round trip with a 150m ascent.
Please allow a full day for this activity, including around 7 hours for the hike.
- Pick-ups in the Giffre valley between Taninges and Sixt.
- Journey to the start of the hike.
- Activity briefing.
- Snowshoeing off the beaten track.
- Watching chamois and plants with commentary from your naturalist guide.
- Meals: picnic or fondue in the mountain pastures.
- Continuation of the hike.
- Equipped with a long lens that can be fitted to a mobile phone, you can take photos of chamois without disturbing them and in complete safety.
- Return to the trailhead and debrief.
- End of the activity, car pool and return.
Minors must be accompanied by an adult.
A minimum of 2 participants is required for the activity to take place.
Pick-ups are organised in the Giffre valley between Taninges and Sixt. Please contact your guide once your booking is confirmed to inform them of your pick-up location.
For lunch, you can bring your own picnic or enjoy a fondue on the mountain pasture. Please inform your guide of your choice.
Pets are allowed on this activity.
It is possible to take part in this hike with a baby carrier.
