Practical information
Set off on an exploration dive in Santo Antão from Porto Novo: you will reach one of the many dive sites around the island by boat (chosen according to sea conditions, your diving level and, if possible, your desires) for an immersion of around 50 minutes (variable according to your consumption, level, etc.).
⚠️ This service only includes a scuba tank and a weight belt, so you will need to bring your own scuba diving equipment (wetsuit, mask, etc.) or rent what you need on site for an extra charge.
Please allow around 4 hours in total for your visit.
- Welcome at the diving centre in Porto Novo
- Administrative formalities, including a briefing on the course of the activity and verification of diving certificates
- Preparation of your diving equipment
- 5-minute van transfer to the boat at the port
- Boarding the boat
- Navigation to the dive site (navigation time varies from 3 to 40 minutes depending on the dive site chosen and the weather conditions) with briefing on the safety instructions to be followed during the dive
- Launch with a dive master for 4 divers
- Immersion for around 50 minutes (variable according to your level, consumption, etc.)
- Back on board with water and a few local cookies
- Sailing back to port with debriefing of the activity
- Transfer back to the dive centre, equipment storage and end of the activity (showers and toilets available at the centre)
A minimum of Level 1 or Open Water Diver is required to take part in this activity.
Written parental authorisation is required for minors to participate in this activity.
This activity is not accessible to pregnant people or disabled people.
