Guided Hike on the Paiva Walkways and 516 Arouca Bridge, near Porto

Please plan to spend half a day on site.

• Meeting with the guide at the meeting point in Alvarenga 15 minutes before the start of the activity
• Briefing on the activity and safety instructions, with some information about the Arouca Geopark and the Paiva River Valley
• Departure for about 4 hours of guided hike on the Paiva Walkways: the outing begins with a walk through the village to reach the 516 Arouca suspension bridge (optional crossing: you can reach the other side of the bridge by jeep if necessary, free of charge), then the visit of the Paiva Walkways (a transfer by jeep will be provided on a closed part of the route to drop you off on a small beach (Vau River Beach) where you will take a short break before reaching the end of the route at the Espiunca)
• At Espiunca, you can swim in the river and have something to eat next to it (at your own expense) before taking the jeep back to the meeting point
• If you have opted for the lunch option (€20 supplement) when booking, you will enjoy a platter of typical Portuguese cold meats and cheeses (cheese only if you prefer), a drink of your choice (wine included), and then a choice between an Arouquesa steak sandwich, an Arouquesa beef burger, a veggie burger or a tuna sandwich, all served with crispy chips

All minors must be accompanied by an adult. In case of children below 10 years old, they need to bring identification proving age above 6 years old.

Please arrive 15 minutes before the departure time.

A minimum of 2 participants is required to run this activity.

This activity is not accessible to people with reduced mobility.

Pets are welcome to join this activity.

*Due to the bad weather in mid-March, part of the structure of the Paiva Walkways was affected and it's only possible to walk half of the route. Visits will continue as normal on the first part of the route, the Alvarenga - Vau section.
