Get certified as an Open Water Scuba Diver in the waters of Lanzarote on this amazing Open Water Course offered by Active Scuba Divers! Spend 3 days learning good techniques, necessary safety measures, and anything else you might need to reach the necessary scuba diving level and make dives up to 18 meters deep.

On this Open Water Corse you will learn:
- Basic Scuba Diving Knowledge:
- Understanding the principles of diving physics, such as buoyancy, pressure, and gas laws.
- Learning about diving equipment, including its function, assembly, and maintenance.
- Familiarize yourself with safe diving practices, emergency procedures, and dive planning.
2. Underwater Skills:
- Mask skills: Clearing water from the mask and recovering a dislodged mask underwater.
- Regulator skills: Retrieving and clearing the regulator (breathing apparatus) in case it gets dislodged.
- Buoyancy control: Learning to control depth by adjusting buoyancy using the buoyancy control device (BCD).
- Equalization techniques: Equalizing pressure in the ears and sinuses to avoid discomfort or injury.
3. Dive Planning and Execution:
- Understanding dive tables or dive computers to plan safe dive profiles and bottom times.
- Practicing buddy communication and coordination during dives.
- Conducting pre-dive safety checks and equipment setup.
4. Environmental Awareness:
- Learning about marine life and ecosystems encountered during dives.
- Understanding the importance of conservation and minimizing environmental impact while diving.
5. Emergency Procedures:
- Reacting to common diving emergencies such as running out of air, buddy separation, or disorientation.
- Learning rescue techniques and how to assist a distressed diver.
6. Navigation:
- Basic underwater navigation using compasses and natural reference points.
- Understanding dive site layouts and how to navigate back to the entry/exit point.
7. Final Assessment:
- Completion of knowledge reviews and quizzes to ensure understanding of course material.
- Successfully passing a final exam to demonstrate comprehension of diving principles and safety protocols.
To participate in this activity, you'll need to present a medical certificate of no contraindication to diving. In general terms, you must not have any of the following contraindications: respiratory problems (exertional asthma), heart problems, ENT problems, lung problems, diabetes, or epilepsy. If you have any doubts, don't hesitate to contact us or ask for medical advice.
Written parental authorisation is required for minors to participate in this activity without an accompanying adult.
Please note you are not allowed to fly for up to 24 hours after your last dive.
