Practical information
5 day paragliding initiation course - 3 hours of lessons per day.
Day 1: Introduction and theory
-Welcome and presentation of the program.
-Introduction to equipment: understanding the different components of paragliders and how they work.
-Theoretical session on the basics of paragliding: aerodynamics, weather, safety rules, etc.
-Debriefing and discussion of participants' expectations.
Day 2: First steps in the field
-Ground practice: learning take-off, landing and glider control techniques.
-Paraglider handling exercises on suitable terrain.
-First attempts at inflating and handling the glider in controlled conditions.
-Debriefing session to identify areas for improvement.
Day 3: Tandem flight and ground practice
-Tandem flight with an experienced instructor to get the feel of flying in safety.
-Return to the ground to continue ground practice: inflation, control and glider handling exercises.
-Analysis of tandem flights and observations.
Day 4: Practice in real conditions
-Practice in the field, adapted to the day's weather conditions.
-Inflating and take-off exercises in real conditions.
-Learn basic flying techniques.
-Debriefing of practice sessions and individual advice.
Day 5: Solo flight and final assessment
-Solo flight supervised by instructors.
-Practical application of skills acquired in previous sessions.
-Individual assessment of each participant's progress.
-Closing session, presentation of certificates of participation and recommendations for further training.
This schedule is given as an indication and may vary according to weather conditions, the level of the participants and the paragliding school's pedagogical choices.
Written parental authorisation is required for minors to participate in this activity without an accompanying adult.
Being in good physical condition is required to take part in this activity. You must not have any medical contraindications to take part in this activity.
Minimum/Maximum weight for this activity: 40kg/130kg (88lb/286lb)
This activity is not accessible to pregnant or disabled people.
It is imperative to aquire an RCA liscence for this activity. Further information about this will be sent from the provider after booking. A medical certificate is also required.
If you are new to paragliding and planning just one supervised internship this year, you can opt for the "9-day internship" license at 33.50€.
