Practical information
This will be a 2-hour group surf lesson at the beginner level in the beautiful beaches of Praia das Milícias, 4 kilometers Praia das Milícias, 4 kilometers from Ponta Delgada, or Praia do Areal de Santa Bárbara, depending on your surfing level and the tides of the day.
- Arrival at meeting point and introduction to the teacher.
- Briefing on safety rules and concepts to bear in mind about the ocean.
- Equipment distribution and set-up
- Dynamic warm-up.
- Explanation of surfing equipment and how to use it.
- Explanation on how to enter the water, get on the board, catch waves, and paddle.
- Explanation on how to stay on the board.
- Equipment return and end of session
No previous surfing level is required.
All participants must know how to swim to participate in this activity.
The lessons for beginners and first-time surfers, are normally held at Praia das Milícias or at the Areal de Santa Barbara. The students will be informed of the location on the day before the lesson by email or phone call.
