Practical information

Enjoy a day including a hike to Montcalm ski resort and a 1.5 to 2 hours sled dog ride (1h on Saturdays) as a driver or passenger!

Course of events

- Meet at Radisson metro station in Montreal

- Transfer by minibus with guide/driver to Montcalm ski resort (approx. 1 hour's drive)

- Morning hike on the resort's multi-purpose trails

- Lunch break (not included: please bring a picnic or money to pay for your lunch in a local restaurant)

- Transfer by minibus to the Aventures Liguoriennes base (approx. 20 to 25 minutes' drive)

- Meet the team in the reception area, where you can dress warmly in the cold-weather gear available (free of charge)

- Briefing on the tour and safety instructions, with theoretical and practical training in driving the sled

- If you wish, you can take part in harnessing the dogs alongside the guides

- Departure for a 1.5 to 2-hour dog sled ride, with the option of taking turns driving (there will be 2 of you per sled)

- Return to base and unhitch the dogs

- Special time with the dogs at the kennels

- A snack and a hot drink will be served to warm you up and bring the activity to a close

- Return to Montreal by minibus (about 1 hour's drive) and end of the experience

Activity requirements

Maximum weight per person: 110 kg (242lbs).

The activity requires a good sense of balance, good reflexes and a high level of attention, as you will be following the guide's carriage.

There will be 2 people per sled: at least 1 person must be able to drive the sled pulled by 5 to 6 dogs. Children aged between 6 and 16 can drive a double sled with an adult.

Minors must be accompanied by an adult.

Special terms

On Saturdays, the walk lasts 1 hour, for a total of 2 hours of activity with the dogs. Hot drinks and sweets included.

Not recommended for people with back and/or knee problems.

If required, you can top up your equipment on site, free of charge (boots, snowpants and mittens).

If possible during the activity, a member of the team will take photos on the trails and share them with you via AirDrop or equivalent.
