Practical information
As we get closer, the dark blue of the sea gives way to lighter shades. Landing on the island by boat is not permitted for the time being, but the cruise allows participants to learn about the island's beautiful beaches as the ship approaches them and passengers exit the ship swimming. Access to the mainland is not permitted.
One of the island's distinguishing features is its surrounding shallow bays and sandy beaches covered in shells. There are numerous opportunities for swimming and diving in calm, turquoise waters. The beach Chrissi Ammos or Belegrina, located in the north of the island, is the main attraction. Hatzivolakas to the northwest, Fokiospilo to the northeast, the Treis Vagies to the southeast, Kataprosopo to the east, and the southern beach at "Vougiou Mati" are all beautiful bays.
Depending on the weather, the ship will anchor near a beach to swim and enjoy the crystal clear waters.
Our journey will continue by sailing around the island, allowing you to admire the beautiful coastline and view of the island from the sea while enjoying a sea cruise in the exotic waters of the Libyan Sea.
The colors of the rocks, which are mostly grey-green, reddish-brown, black, and so on, are spectacular, and the island is almost entirely covered in golden sand. Chrissi's base rocks were formed by the solidification of lava that poured out of an undersea volcano millions of years ago. The island's 49 fossil species (corals, shells, barnacles, and urchins) come from the sea. They were imprinted on the volcanic rocks when Chrissi was still underwater 350,000-70,000 years ago. Shells abound on the northern shores (Belegrina, Hatzivolakas, and Kataprosopo). The amount of shells is so abundant, especially on the east side of the northern beach, that the view is overwhelming.
