A Table Mountain classic, this route winds in and around India Ravine and Venster Buttress, following the lines of the cable car above us. Making our way around the mountain, this route provides incredible views from both sides of the peak, before climbing our way to more elevated terrains. This route is the one which involves the most scrambles, and will most definitely require a hands-on approach during the ascent. Strap on for an adventurous 4 hours which will earn you the title of a proper Capetonian by the end!
India Venster is classified as a B-Grade scramble, meaning it is accessible to anyone who is comfortable with heights.
The route begins briefly on the contour path around Table Mountain, before heading upwards to Venster Buttress. Once up, we will be able to actually look through the venster (window in Afrikaans) onto the India Ravine. After this landmark, we will reach the scramble sections, which our well-trained guides will coach you through safely and enthusiastically, before reaching the top of the mountain.
