Practical information

A parasailing flight over the lagoon of Bora Bora lasting 15 minutes and up to 50 metres high thanks to 100 metres of rope.

Course of events

- Pick-up from your accommodation (see ‘special terms’ for more details)

- Welcome at the Bora Bora Lagoon Parasail base near Pointe Matira

- Boarding of the boat with a briefing on the activity and safety instructions (explanatory sheet available in several languages)

- Departure for a 40-minute to 1 hour and 15-minute boat tour on the Bora Bora lagoon (variable depending on the number of flights to be made, generally 2)

- Fitting of equipment (life jacket and harness) to attach you to the sail

- Take off from the rear platform of the boat for a 15-minute flight, up to 50 metres high

- Soft landing on the boat platform at the end of the flight and de-equipping

- Return to the base, then to your accommodation and end of the activity

Activity requirements

Maximum weight per person: 330 lbs / 150 kg

Maximum weight under the parachute: 550 lbs / 245 kg (if the wind is favourable)

Children can fly on their own depending on the day's wind conditions and their weight: the instructor will contact you by telephone if necessary.

Following your booking request, you will receive a second e-mail asking where you would like to stay to organise the pick-up: please make sure you fill it in correctly so that the instructor can organise things as well as possible.

Special terms

This activity is not recommended for pregnant people.

Parasailing flights can be done alone (book x1 ‘Solo’), by 2 (book x1 ‘Duo’) or by 3 (book x1 ‘Trio’).

The boat can only take on board customers who are taking a flight.

If you wish, you can purchase a GoPro video (attached to your harness) of your activity on site for an extra charge of 7,500 xpf (SD card + adapter).

Depending on where you are staying, transfers are as follows:

  • for Intercontinental Le Moana, Maitai and Le Royal, pick-up and drop-off are direct from the hotel dock with the parachute boat at an agreed time;
  • for Four Seasons and St Régis, you will need to take a taxiboat from your hotel dock directly to the parachute boat at an agreed time (cost: XPF 10,000 return/couple);
  • for Conrad, you can choose between the boat taxi (cost: 10,000 XPF return/couple) OR take the hotel shuttle to Vaitape where a minibus taxi will be waiting to take you directly to the base (the return minibus journey is free per couple);
  • for Le Bora Bora by Pearl Resorts, you can choose between the water taxi (cost: 10,000 XPF return/couple) OR take the hotel shuttle to the hotel base where a minibus taxi will be waiting to take you directly to the base (the return minibus journey is free per couple);
  • for Intercontinental Thalasso, you can choose between the taxi boat (cost: 10,000 XPF return/couple) OR take the shuttle from the hotel to Intercontinental Le Moana where the team will pick you up at the dock with the parachute boat (not at reception). After the excursion, they will take you back to the Moana dock;
  • if you are staying in a guest house, AirBnB or rental on the island, a free minibus will pick you up from where you are staying at an agreed time and bring you back.
