Practical information
Activity on board the boat shared with other participants
- Arrival at Pahiarepo marina and welcome directly on the Mobydick Tahiti boat with snorkelling equipment if you don't have it
- Departure by boat, direction the little frequented area between Paea and the motus of Mataiea, with briefing on humpback whales
- Search for whales, then observation once they are found (it is not guaranteed to find whales during the trip)
- If all the conditions are met, launch to swim at a reasonable distance from the whales, respecting the rules of approach established by the DIREN (Direction of the Environment)
- Return to the marina of Pahiarepo
Participants must know how to swim at least 100 meters in the middle of the ocean to take part in this activity. It is not recommended to go in the water if you are not able to, or if you are not comfortable with fins, mask and snorkel.
No launching for children under 8 years old.
This activity is not recommended for pregnant people because of the shocks in the sea (ask your doctor for advice).
The organizer may cancel the trip if the weather conditions are unfavorable, and the client will be offered other dates, or a refund if the trip cannot be rescheduled.
Encounters with whales are not 100% guaranteed, nor is the launch: these animals remain wild and unpredictable.
