Practical information

Guided safari excursion of 3 to 4 hours to swim with the dolphins in Moorea, as well as snorkelling in the Moorea lagoon at various must-see sites (the submerged tikis, the coral garden, etc.).

Course of events
  • Welcome at the Moorea Expedition base in Tiahura, in the north-west of the island, or pick-up at your accommodation in Moorea (free shuttle)
  • Boarding of the boat with a briefing on the activity and safety instructions
  • Departure for a 3 to 4-hour excursion, starting with a search for dolphins
  • Once the dolphins have been found, observation phase to determine whether or not it is possible to take to the water, depending on their behaviour and the sea conditions
  • If all the conditions are met, participants who wish to do so can take to the water: a guide will accompany you into the water where you can admire the dolphins from a distance of 100 metres
  • Return aboard the boat, then head for the next snorkelling sites in Moorea lagoon: visit to Ōpūnohu Bay, snorkelling with the submerged tikis, discovery of the Coral Garden, snorkelling with the turtles in the lagoon, then the rays and blacktip sharks
  • Return to the base, disembarkation and end of the activity
Activity requirements

Minimum age for snorkelling: 5 years old

To get in the water, you must know how to swim, be comfortable in the water and be in good physical condition.

All children must be accompanied by an adult.

A minimum number of 4 participants is required to run this activity.

Special terms

This activity is free for children under 2 years old.

If you are prone to seasickness, we recommend that you take precautions before the outing.

All snorkelling equipment is provided on board the boat, however, the team recommends that you bring your own equipment if possible.

Since wildlife is unpredictable, their presence is never guaranteed.
